Maintaining the shine of your jewelry as the first day is very easy, you just have to follow our recommendations. Despite the fact that all our jewels have been treated with specific techniques to maintain their initial appearance, they will lose their shine if they are not properly cared for, cleaned and stored.

925 Sterling Silver

924 Sterling Silver is an alloy between 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. This gives the silver more rigidity - otherwise it would be so soft that it would bend under normal use.

Silver turns black when it gets sulphate, that is, when it gets in contact with things that contain sulphur, such as jacuzzis, swimming pools, and cosmetics… The oils on our skin protect silver, so wear it a lot!

Sweat may contain some sulphur depending on your diet, although it’s less common.

Care

To clean your jewelry from dirt, sweat or grease, put some neutral soap in warm water and rub the piece with a soft-bristled brush. Then rinse the jewelry with water and dry it with a clean and soft cloth.

To minimize scratches, store your piece in your 22STACY pouch or in a separate compartment in your jewelry box. The best way to store your necklaces is to hang them.

18k or 14k Gold Plating

Most of our jewelry are in 18k/14k gold plating with 0.25 micron and e-coating (e-coating is an anti-tarnish protection layer on top). Gold plating doesn’t like sweat or water, so it’s better if you take it off when taking a shower or during exercise. That way, it’s color will last a long time.

Care

To clean it, you can use a clean, soft cloth. And if is still dirty, put some neutral soap in warm water and rub the piece gently with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse, dry well and store in our packaging.

Coatings, unlike solid gold, don’t last forever.

316L stainless steel

The stainless steel jewelry is made of iron, carbon and chrome. The stainless steel jewels are pieces of extraordinary quality and durability. Especially 316L stainless steel is known as surgical material. It is also a hypoallergenic material. It’s resistant to corrosion, oxidation and heat.

As resistant as it is, there is one element that starts its corrosion: chlorine. And it’s present in the sea, pools and some detergent. That’s why it’s best to remove your jewelry instead of exposing it to these environments.

You should have particular care with our gold plated pieces. We don’t guarantee a gold plate that will last forever.

Gilded pieces are, by default, more fragile and sensitive to color loss overtime. The speed of color vanishing depends on different factors as the use os chemical products, the transpiration level or even the ph of every person skin.

For all this, is specially important to give your jewels a proper care, or, if you think that gold plating does not last long, it is preferable you choose the jewelry in the silver version.
